12! I did 8 last night because I was ready to sleep & wanted for morning, but think I prefer 9. I’ll give 12 a shot next.
I built up the time slowly with several batches as I didn’t know how sour it would go. I’ve now got it spot on. I set it up the night before and the timer goes off whilst I’m making tea in the morning.
Do you have any tricks for using up the whey liquid?
Yup. I mix it into my morning omelette. It adds a slight grilled cheese taste. You could probably use it in savoury baking too. I’ve read that peeps also use it as part of picking veg too but I’ve not tried that yet as it keeps well in the fridge so mostly goes into omelettes.
Cool. I was thinking about using it in a “protein pancake” recipe but that’s a good idea too.
I’ve become that person too. 12 hours in the instapot and then 8 straining in the fridge make my kind of yogurt… thick and tangy.
